Welcome to Cityhaunts, the essential site for city travellers

Travel is my passion and I love cities, hence the name of my site. I have lived and worked in cities all my life and while I enjoy the countryside, cities are where I want to spend my time. I love visiting new ones whether for a few days or as part of a longer trip and the site aims to give fellow travellers just the right amount of information needed to enjoy a city. All the tips for transport, accommodation, restaurants, bars and culture are from personal experience and aim to give you the extra you might not get from a guide book and with a personal touch.

I also love food and wine, to me a new city is a great opportunity to eat good local dishes, try the wines, where possible, and feel as close to being a local as you can. All the restaurants, cafes and bars have been personally visited and are recommended for the food and service, with prices to suit all pockets. Many of the countries included are wine producing and I am aiming to introduce people to lesser known wine varieties, many locally produced, as well as local speciality drinks. Over eighty cities in more than thirty countries currently feature on the site and there are blogs from recent travels and new blogs and cities will be added regularly.
